Forthcoming in World Affairs Journal (Summer 2017):

Founded in 1837, World Affairs is a quarterly journal showcasing provocative and original research in international and current affairs. The PSO is extremely proud to now be a part of the long history of this exceptional journal in adding it to our growing library of publications that disseminate quality policy research and opinion.
Continuing the World Affairs journal's timely, thought provoking short pieces, we are delighted to provide PSO members and visitors an advance publication of one of the articles in the Summer 2017 issue (view published issues here). Ahead of next week’s U.S.-Korea Summit, Leif-Eric Easley maps out the foreign policy challenges and opportunities open to the Trump administration in “From Strategic Patience to Strategic Uncertainty: Trump, North Korea and South Korea’s New President.” (View PDF) The author argues that, with a new pro-engagement government in Seoul, the Trump administration’s main challenge will be to maintain coordination with allies while keeping both Pyongyang and Beijing focused on the costs of North Korea’s nuclear and long-range missile tests.
